The story of Panicale begins in 1964 with the marriage of Mario Panicale and Soliera. The couple, who moved to the village of Pila, just outside Perugia, founded the first artisanal workshop. Soliera, a master in knitwear, and Mario, with his exceptional management skills, combined their expertise and quickly applied them to the service of the most prestigious national brands.
First Panicale Collection
With the acquisition of industry professionals, the company gradually grew, refining its techniques and expanding its network of collaborations with renowned brands. This evolution led Panicale to take a decisive step: developing a knitwear line entirely under its own name. After years of research and perfection, in 1978, the first Panicale men's collection was officially launched.
Rosita Panicale takes over the Company
In the late '90s, a significant generational shift occurred, marking a fundamental turning point in the company’s history. The leadership of the business, once held by Mario Panicale, was passed to his daughter Rosita, who, with great dedication and vision, continued the founder’s legacy, carrying it forward with renewed vigor and passion. Alongside Rosita, an essential figure in the project, was her husband Renzo, a seasoned professional with proven experience, who took on the role of Chief Financial Officer. Together, united not only by family ties but by a shared and complementary vision, they led the company with a perfect balance of creativity, innovation, and solid management, securing its future through both continuity and renewal.

In the early 2000s, Panicale Cashmere firmly established itself as a prestigious brand, present in the most exclusive boutiques in the world’s most influential cities.
The first Women’s Collection by Panicale Cashmere
In 2011, the creation of a collection exclusively dedicated to the female world, conceived by Rosita Panicale, marked a pivotal moment in the company’s dynamics, guiding the business towards a new direction.
The Third Generation joins the Company
In 2012, the company proudly celebrated the rare and exceptional entry of the third generation, represented by Rosita’s son, Gioele, and daughter, Aurora. In this unique moment, Gioele assumed the role of Commercial Director, bringing a fresh and dynamic perspective, while Aurora, with refined expertise, led the Style Office. In a perfect balance of tradition and innovation, the siblings passionately continued the family legacy, charting a new path that honors the past while boldly looking toward the future.
The Milan Showroom opens – A hub for international connections
Our brand is now present in over 400 exclusive boutiques worldwide, firmly establishing its prestige in the high-end knitwear sector. In 2019, we inaugurated our showroom in Milan, just a few steps from the Duomo. This unique space houses a rare 14th-century coin mint, symbolizing historical tradition and timeless elegance. The showroom is dedicated to presenting new collections and meeting international buyers and clients. Our primary markets include Europe, Russia, the Far East, and the Americas, where Panicale is recognized for its artisanal excellence and unmatched style.
The first Boutique opens, symbolizing company excellence
In 2022, the company proudly opened its first exclusive boutique in the heart of Umbria, a region that has always embodied authenticity, tradition, and artisanal excellence.
