What is Cashmere

Cashmere is a precious fiber obtained from the undercoat of goats native to the high plateaus of Central Asia, used since ancient times for its exceptional warmth and softness. Named after the Kashmir region where it was first processed, cashmere is cherished worldwide for its luxurious feel, insulating properties, and durability. The fiber is harvested by carefully combing the goats’ coats during their natural spring shedding. Italy is the world’s leading processor of high-quality cashmere, with Umbria at its heart—where artisanal expertise merges with innovation to create garments of unparalleled refinement.
